Ex-Officio Meetings

Roundtables

TREAD has a group of over 50 Ex-Officio members! The cohort includes land managers, outdoor recreation club leaders, local public officials, outdoor recreation stakeholders, economic development managers, destination marketing managers, and many more. TREAD convenes quarterly Ex-Officio meetings where everyone has the chance to update the group on what they have been working on, and connections are made and retained. Ex-Officio meetings also include presentations by local organizations as well as six collective impact work groups.

  • Improve environmental conservation and sustainability

  • Expand and enhance outdoor recreation infrastructure

  • Improve education/advocacy about outdoor recreation and cultural awareness

  • Increase representation of underrepresented groups in outdoor recreation

  • Strengthen community-powered marketing and travel

  • Increase mobilization and coordination of volunteers for shared stewardship of our lands

In November 2021, TREAD hosted the first annual Outdoor Recreation Roundtable. Over 30 land managers and elected officials got together and discussed big ideas and plans for the next 20 years. Over 60 ideas were discussed! One of the proposed ideas was to create an Interagency Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which TREAD led the charge on and completed in October 2022 including 17 organizations that signed.

In January 2022, TREAD hosted a Mini Outdoor Recreation Roundtable for local outdoor recreation groups and clubs. From this meeting, more than 25 ideas were added to the list of plans.

TREAD is employing a collective impact software system to track and implement all these plans and ideas.

TREAD Roundtables continue to be held annually in November.
