In conjunction with the Forest Service, TREAD has taken on the task of managing and maintaining two fire lookouts located in the Entiat Valley, Tyee and Steliko. These lookouts are spectacular historical buildings that the Forest Service converted into public-use cabins. The public can visit www.recreation.gov to reserve either lookout for one to 14 nights.

Both lookouts have spectacular views of the Entiat Valley, provide serene time in the wilderness and a sense of adventure. Steliko is open year-round. During the winter months visitors can hike, snowshoe, snowmobile, or cross-country ski to the lookout. During the summer Steliko and Tyee are both accessible by car.

Beginning in Summer 2023 TREAD has included Discover Entiat in this project to assist with the maintenance of Tyee and Steliko Lookouts.
